In this poster we wanted to represent our intentions with the project. It shows hope, not in the sense of expecting that everything is going to be alright given some time, but making the victims aware that there is always a way out of their cycle of violence. Then we decided the meaning of the image, the door left to be opened as a depiction of an exit, that remains always as a possibility of ending the abuse, but considering also the effort that has to be made to physically open the door as a final struggle that has to be made to completely suppress the ill treatment.
There's always a door
The first exit
All it takes is one call
Although we wanted to point out through all the project the importance of having always a way out to the hole problem, it is also important to state that as at the beginning of all relationships everything is all right, the prevention of gender violence is always the less painful solution to it; but also the most difficult to carry out as the identification of the first signs may turn out to be complicated. That is why it is crucial to stop the relationship at the first manifestation of gender violence, taking the first exit.
Gender violence never stops alone. It comes back. It must be stopped it before it's too late, before it affects you or your loved ones. It will get worse, and won’t change on its own. This poster captures the moment: the tension and the pain. It also represents the consequences of not seeking for help. All you have to do is one call. There’s always a person to speak to, there’s always a phone to call, there’s always a door to open.
